Lets be blunt… about bangs.

Everyone comes in and asks me what they should do to jazz up their looks for the winter. They want to keep their length to stay warm (hair can be like a blanket in these freezing months!) but still want to be trendy.

I always suggest blunt bangs. In fact, I’ve been rocking out my own blunt bangs for a few weeks now and as soon as people see them, they ask me to cut some for them. Hey guys, I’m a trendsetter!

my new bangs

Bangs are perfect for you for so many reasons. They are perfect for most face shapes, they add style to any haircut, they are easy to style, and they really make your eyes pop! They are easy to grow out, too, if you don’t like the maintenance. Simply grow them past your eyes, and sweep them to the side for a full frontal side bang.

Here are some of my favorite blunt bangs!

Kim's blunt bangs from the summer

One of my favorite bang looks from TIGI's Joel Torres.

Adding a bang to this long layered haircut instantly gave it some drama

a strong bang on a multidimensional blonde.

Extra long length? opt for blunt bangs and you are ready for the catwalk

My favorite hair of 2011

My holiday hours start today, which basically means its Christmas. The next six weeks are going to fly by, and it will be 2012 before we know it!

Therefore, I thought today would be an appropriate time to express my love of wavy bobs, or, my favorite hair of 2011. People still come in for the “long bob”, the “short bob” or even STILL the “Posh bob”, but this is a great recomendation for any type of hair. It is long enough for a ponytail, short enough to show some neck, and as versatile as your favorite pair of jeans.

It was a crazy year of growing out my pixi cut! I went through nine long months without an official haircut to get where I am today. The wavy bob will be my final resting place in grow out land, and I’m so close!! I can rock it out with some extensions, but not naturally!

Here are some of my favorite looks of the wavy bob.

Alexa Chung, the long wavy bob.

ScarJo's wavy bob, my favorite length.

Charlize Theron's super wavy bob

Victoria Beckham's wavy bob, when she was growing her pixie out, too.

my personal version of the wavy bob, via extensions and bangs

Rock this look with a square cut bob with medium or long layers. Short layers are too hard to curl. I like to use a curl stick (or curl wand), let it cool, and then run your fingers through and loosen the curl for style.

Finding your perfect mate hairstylist

Lately, I’ve realized that your relationship with your hairdresser is a lot like your relationships in your personal life.

A great relationship with your hairstylist is very important. Besides doing your hair perfectly, you have to get along well, too.

I came to this realization after meeting a lot of new women this past month. Women that were too scared to find a new stylist after they lost their old one.

Did they move away? Did they get dumped? Did they fire her? Either way, they lost an important person in their life. Pretty similar to a breakup with a boyfriend.

What do you have to do next? Besides eat a pint of ice cream? Find a new boyfriendhairstylist! Women will search for recommendations from friends, coworkers, neighbors, and even online for a boyfriendhairstylist.

Being a new person in a huge salon is intimidating. It’s like being the only single person in a bar. And once you meet that person, will you be good together? You go through the list.

To find your perfect mate hairstylist, you need have a few things in common.

1. They have to perform services well and in a timely matter.
3. They have to be close to your home. Long distance never works. And feel comfortable in their home salon.
4. You have to have the same schedule, so you can actually see each other when you need them.
5. You have to be able to hold a conversation for hours and not get bored.
6. If they have a best friend assistant, you better get along with them too.

So for the upcoming holiday season, kids, make sure you find your perfect mate hairstylist, and please, get those roots touched up before the 25th!

This post goes out to all of my friends that are in complicated relationships, that are in secretly in love with someone, or that are single and looking. You all ask for my help everyday. If you havent found that person to be happy with yet, or have found them and are not yet together, hopefully you at least have perfect hair!!!

Happy Holidays, hope you had a good laugh :)

Inspired!! Studded nails!!

So listen, Michael Kors and I are totally facebook friends. Ok fine, I’m one of 550,000 facebookers that “like” him. Anyway, he was on my news feed today and reposted a blogpost by Nailasaurus that caught my eye!

The writer was inspired by the MICHAEL Michael Kors studded sheath dress, and created a custom nail to match. Kors said on his facebook page that he personally loves the natural look, but thought it was a super bold idea.

I would totally rock this look, both the dress and the nails!! (If only someone would buy me the $300 dress!)

Would you guys rock this look, too??
